The pictures in this gallery show the progress of one memorial, from initial sketches to the finished stone. I have introduced this page onto my website to give anyone who is interested an idea of how the design process might work. The first pictures show the development of a headstone, but a similar process is followed for all my designs and their realisation. Usually, there a lot of ideas at the beginning of the process which become refined. I like to encourage clients to come back as often as required until everyone is happy. Essentially, the drawing stage is the most important part of the plan, with everything, including the lettering being hand-drawn and bespoke designed.
The cost of stone and labour is also quoted for at this stage.

I have also included four examples of different carving processes and samples of stone with lettering, for reference.
