For this project I would like to thank Andrew Macdonald, and Tom Allan who invited me to the Big Art symposium in Kirkcudbright in 2012. This was a public art event which took place over 7 days in the town. I retrieved snippets of narrative from the Stewartry museum, and pasted them together, creating a new and permanent text carved in stone.

The parts of the stories used are all recognisable parts of the local history. They incorporate an extract from the Hammermen and Glovers minutes from 1830, part of a notice to Mariners circa 1800, the story of a murder committed at the Ross island light house in 1960, and finally a story from the Scottish Daily mail in 1919 about the survival of a local painter who had escaped from the German Nazis by pretending to be dead in a mortuary for three days.
